As a school volunteer you find yourself in a situation where, despite your induction and training, you do not know what to do. Do you:
(a)
If appropriate, stop and ask a staff member for direction and advice.
(b)
If no staff assistance is available, avoid making a decision or taking action if possible, provided there are no immediate or emergency considerations.
(c)
If no staff assistance is available, and there is an urgent need for action, make the best decision that you can that reflects your training and the school’s expectations of you as a volunteer.
(d)
Seek follow up advice later from school staff or check information on the school or Catholic Education website that may assist.
