The parent engagement workshop features visiting Canadian
Professor Debbie Pushor who is a keynote speaker at the national
ARACY parent engagement conference in Melbourne in June.
Professor Pushor is internationally recognised for her work in parent engagement in student learning and the recent trend in moving parent involvement beyond fundraising and working bees to being an active partner with schools in their children’s education. Her visit to Cairns has been made possible through the initiative of the state and diocesan P&Fs.

The workshop is designed to involve parents, teachers and school
leaders in a constructive discussion about how families can work with schools to enhance student learning and wellbeing. We will explore best practice internationally as well as highlight and recognise the fantastic work our local schools are already doing in this space.
