Learning remotely, whether from home or school, is the new normal for the start of Term 2 during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. This is very different to home schooling as schools and teachers will still be delivering the curriculum. While younger children will undoubtedly require more assistance, parents are not expected to be teachers, but support their child to stay engaged.
Students, especially in our Colleges, are encouraged to use their school’s Student Portal as the starting point for their work-from-home each day. This will provide them with quick and secure access to the online environments which they are accustomed to using at school. Students using iPads may find it easier to go straight to the app used by their school where the learning activities can be found. For students using school laptops, the landing page in the browser will be their Student Portal. Those using home devices can go to their learning site, for example Seesaw, Classroom or Canvas.
