Student Care Insurance
Has your child had an accident or injury at school or in a school-related activity such as inter-school sport or a school camp? If the answer is yes you may be entitled to claim for expenses under Catholic Education’s Student Care Insurance.
On approval of a claim a lump sum payment is made to assist families with funding expenses such as medical costs (where the law allows), emergency transport, travel, home tuition and school fee relief. Please note that general insurers in Australia are unable to cover any medical expense that is eligible for a Medicare rebate. This includes not being able to fund any gap between the amount charged by the doctor/specialist and the Medicare or health fund rebate.
The lump sum payment on approval of a claim together with the Medicare rebate and private health fund payment (if applicable) will assist with funding of medical expenses for a student injury at school or in a school-related activity. But please be aware that a student personal accident policy is not legally able to fund the totality of medical expenses for claimable events.
Please see the insurance brochure below for more information. The two forms provided may be used to lodge claims.
