
Year 12 Education Scholarships
Full scholarships are available to graduating Year 12 students in Cairns Diocese Catholic Colleges to cover HECS fees for up to four years.
The scholarships are intended for students applying to complete a full-time, four-year Bachelor of Education degree at James Cook University Nguma Bada Campus (JCU) or Central Queensland University (CQU) Cairns campus. These full-time degrees may include Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary majors.
Successful students would be committing to undertake at least 50% of their professional experience placements in Catholic schools within the Diocese of Cairns, including their final year practicum. First Nations students are strongly encouraged to apply.

Final Year Education Student Scholarships
Cairns Catholic Education has partnered with Australian Catholic University, James Cook University and Central Queensland University to offer scholarships to final year Education students as part of our commitment to attract, develop and retain graduate teachers at our schools in the region.
The scholarships include support with airfares, accommodation assistance and living expenses while the scholarship recipient is in far northern Catholic schools for the duration of their Practicum. A car is also provided if required for travel to school. Students receive $1,000 in their 4th year, placement in a Catholic school, classroom profiling, and six Professional Development sessions throughout the year as part of our ‘Getting Ready for Employment’ program.
